Workshop Invitation: DaVinci Resolve Editing (Introduction)

We happily invite you to attend the workshop “DaVinci Resolve Editing (Introduction)” by Flavio Garcia on May 25/26 th.

Workshop Description:

The new DaVinci Resolve 16 is here, and it comes with lots of new editing features, so we splitted Editing in two different workshops: Introduction and Advanced. Students who attend both will have a very solid knowledge of the software, and these two workshops are also recommended for people who already know previous versions of Resolve, as there’s really lots of new stuff to discover. In this Introduction Workshop we focus on setting up projects, cloning memory cards, importing and organising media (lots of stuff to discuss here), synching sound, optimizing media (proxies), basic editing tools, basic refining tools, basic sound, effects, tittles, and exporting. We also have a look to the brand new Cut page: a totally new way to edit, that some of you will love!

No previous experience is required. In this workshop we start from scratch, Students must bring their own laptops, with the latest version of DaVinci Resolve 16 installed. The software can be downloaded for free, here:

Please note that DaVinci Resolve 16 is still in Beta (in development), which means you shouldn’t use it yet in real projects. If you are actually using version 15, you can also use that in the workshop.

I’m an independent filmmaker, film professor, and editing and post-production expert. Since 2009, I teach courses, workshops and seminars all over Europe, in film schools, festivals, production companies, and other institutions: DOCMA, FilmArche Berlin, ESDIP-Berlin, MIZ-Babelsberg, Master-LAV, and many others… My teaching method is very practical, precise, and structured, and I also make sure things are exciting and fun! I have postproduced and graded lots of film projects: La Piedra (Víctor Moreno), Freedom to Kill the Other’s Children (David Varela), Armenoscope (Silvina der Meguerditchian)… My movies as director have been shown in more than 40 international film festivals and venues.
