Daniel Irrgang is research assistant of Professor Dr Siegfried Zielinski, chair for media theory, institute for time-based media at Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), the scientific supervisor of the Vilém Flusser Archive at UdK, and a researcher in the project Archaeology/Variantology of the Media (co-editor of vol. 4 and 5 of Variantology – On Deep Time Relations of Arts, Sciences and Technologies and of the German anthology of the series). In 2011 he graduated with an M.A. in Media Studies. Currently, he is writing his doctoral thesis about Diagrammatics as a Cultura experimentalis. Together with changing co-editors, he is editing the proceedings of the “Forum on the Genealogy of MediaThinking”, initialised by Siegfried Zielinski, with guests like Peter Weibel, Boris Groys, or Hans Belting. He is co-editor of the series International Flusser Lectures (together with Siegfried Zielinski and Marcel René Marburger) and co-editor of the critical dictionary project Flusseriana. An Intellectual Toolbox (with Siegfried Zielinski and Peter Weibel), a collection of texts by over 100 authors in three languages (English, German, Portuguese) reflecting Vilém Flusser’s central terms and concepts. Daniel is co-founder (2006) of the communication agency AFKM, working on media-related projects.
